Dynalite was founded in 1987 in Sydney, Australia, by John Gunton, developing a lighting control and building automation system that grew into a globally recognised platform. Philips Lighting acquired Dynalite in 2009, rebranding it Philips Dynalite, before Philips spun off its lighting division in 2018 to form the independent company Signify N.V. — leading to the brand's current name, Signify Dynalite. The system's product range spans user interfaces, multifunction sensors, relay controllers, DALI-certified power and signal dimmers, and integration gateways for BACnet, KNX and RS-232, distributed globally through Signify's network of Certified System Integrators for commercial and institutional lighting control applications.
