Magnecraft Electric Company was founded in 1951 by Herbert Steinback in Chicago, Illinois, initially developing relays for industrial applications. The company grew through a series of strategic acquisitions — including the Electro-Seal Division of C.P. Clare (1972), the Hart-Advance Relay Division of Oak Industries (1974), and Omega Electric Company (1977) — building a broad portfolio of electromechanical, hybrid and solid-state relays and sockets. Schneider Electric acquired the Magnecraft product range in 2004, and the brand continues today as a recognised, quality-conscious name in industrial relays, sockets and accessories used across industrial automation, HVAC, energy management, telecommunications and transportation applications.
