Fisher-Rosemount Parts & Automation Components

Fisher-Rosemount was formed in 1993 through the merger of two century-old process control pioneers: Fisher Controls, whose founder invented the Type 1 pump governor in 1880 (still part of the product line today, virtually unchanged), and Rosemount Incorporated, a company with roots in aerospace and space-race sensor technology developed at the University of Minnesota. Both companies had separately become part of Emerson Electric — Rosemount acquired in 1976, and Fisher purchased from Monsanto in 1992 for $1.25 billion — before Emerson combined them to create what it called "a marketing and technology leadership position in a $15 billion global industry," pairing Fisher's control valve strength with Rosemount's measurement instrumentation expertise. Fisher-Rosemount was renamed Emerson Process Management in 2001, and its legacy Fisher, Rosemount and Fisher-Rosemount Systems product lines remain foundational to Emerson's process automation business today.
