Euchner's history began in 1940 with the establishment of an engineering office by Emil Euchner near Stuttgart, Germany, initially focused on switchgear for controlling motion sequences in mechanical and systems engineering. The company reached a milestone in 1953 with the formal founding of Euchner + Co., and in 1952 Emil Euchner developed the world's first multiple limit switch — a technically sophisticated position switch still regarded as a symbol of the family firm's inventive spirit. Now based in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany, and led by third-generation family member Stefan Euchner alongside a workforce of roughly 900 safety-focused employees worldwide, Euchner engineered the world's first guard locking interlock and remains a leading specialist in machine safety switches, safety relays and RFID-based safety interlocks used across automotive, robotics, machine tool and packaging industries.
