Carlo Gavazzi was founded in 1931 by Italian entrepreneur Carlo Gavazzi, growing from an early industrial venture into a global group spanning sensors, monitoring relays, solid-state relays and energy management systems for industrial and building automation. The company went public on the Zurich Stock Exchange in 1984, and grew through a series of strategic acquisitions — including Electromatic, Feme and Areg in 1988, and Italian sensor maker Saiet in 2000 — while expanding manufacturing into China in the mid-2000s. Today Carlo Gavazzi products serve OEMs across packaging, plastics processing, food and beverage, material handling, and HVAC industries, marketed through a network of more than 20 owned sales companies and 60+ independent distributors worldwide.
