Baumüller was founded in 1930 in Nuremberg, Germany, when Heinrich Baumüller established a repair shop for electrical machines that soon began manufacturing its own three-phase motors. Now in its third generation of family ownership under Andreas Baumüller, following second-generation leadership from Günter Baumüller, the company has grown into a global specialist in electric drive and automation technology, with production sites in Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, China and India and roughly 1,800 employees across more than 40 branches worldwide. Baumüller's b maXX drive and automation system range — including servo motors, frequency converters and safety controls — serves packaging, food and beverage, plastics, textile machinery and increasingly e-mobility and marine drive applications, with the b maXX-safePLC winning a red dot design award in 2008.
