Schrack AG was founded in 1920 in Vienna, Austria, by Dr. Eduard Schrack, who had already invented an optical stereo measuring system for topographic surveys in 1914 and began industrially producing Austria's first electronic tubes in 1918. The company's early business spanned telephone systems, radio equipment, safety switches and fire alarm systems, before growing into one of Central and Eastern Europe's most significant electrical engineering groups, now known as Schrack Technik GmbH. Headquartered in Vienna with over 1,000 employees, seven offices in Austria and roughly 50 more across a dozen other European countries, Schrack today supplies an estimated 60,000+ products spanning electrical power distribution, relays, circuit breakers, building technology, lighting and security systems.
