Who is Gems Sensors?
Gems Sensors & Controls was founded in 1955 in Plainville, Connecticut, by Edward Moore and Gordon Seigle, earning its first commercial recognition for a bilge switch developed for the small boating industry. The company grew into a specialist manufacturer of application-engineered liquid level, pressure and flow sensors, miniature solenoid valves and pre-assembled fluidic systems used across a wide range of industrial fluid applications. In 2016, Gems Sensors was combined with two other Fortive Corporation businesses to form Gems Setra, and the company continues today as a Fortive subsidiary headquartered in Plainville, Connecticut, with manufacturing, sales and engineering operations across North America, Europe and Asia.
